In pursuance to Emp. Notice no. 03/2016/GDCE, the Online Written Examination was
held on 10 June 2017 for 11736 candidates who were found Provisionally Eligible.
Out of 11736 candidates only 10591 candidates appeared in the Written Examination.
Before issuing of list of shortlisted candidate it was decided to call for the online
objections from the candidates from 14.06.2017 to 18.06.2017 upto 5.00 PM, on the
Answer Key proposed to be applied for evaluation process.

Total numbers of 979 objections on 65 questions were received from the candidates.
All the objections were analyzed with reference to objection made on questions and
options given in the above questions. After analyzing it has been found that all
the questions and options given in the proposed Answer Key were correct except question
number 23 (Question ID number 25). This question has been found invalid and the
same has been deleted in the evaluation process and marks have been given out of
99 questions and then it has been converted into marks out of 100.

As per guidelines issued by Railway Board, candidates equal to 8 times the number
of vacancies in the category of ASM are to be called for Aptitude Test primarily
to avoid shortfal in the panel. Merely calling a candidate for Aptitude Test does
not in any way entitiled him/her to an appointment in the Railway on the advertised
post. The candidature of all the shortlisted candidate's is purely provisional subject
to fulfilment of all eligibility conditions RRC reserve the right to reject the
candidature at any stage of recruitment process if any candidate found not eligible
or his/her name included in the debar list of any of the RRB/RRC etc. Accordingly
on the basis of merit of Written Examination held on 10.06.2017 and after deleting
one question as narrated above, total number of 1379 candidates (equal to 8 times
of category wise vacancies of ASM including tie up of same marks) has been shortlisted
provisionaly for Aptitude Test. Detail of marks and Answer sheet of all candidates
would be available on RRC website on conclusion of selection process.

The Aptitude Test will consist of 30 marks and candidate has to qualify in the aptitude
test also to be placed in the panel of ASM. Final merit for the post of ASM will
be drawn after converting marks out of 100 to 70 marks base and Aptitude Test of
30 marks maximum. Marks obtained in written Test would be added to marks obtained
in Aptitude Test to prepare a combined merit list on the basis of total marks of
100. Further a candidate must obtain minimum laid down qualifying marks on the basis
of “aggregate of both the written test and aptitude test” also.

The aptitude test shall be conducted from 17th July 2017 to 21st July 2017
in multiple shifts. No second chance will be given to the candidates who remained

Aptitude test is not applicable for the post of Goods Guard and merit for this post
will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in ONLINE written examination out of
100 only but will be finalized after conclusion of aptitude test.

All necessary further communication about the steps to be taken by the candidates
in the selection process like downloading of e-admit card with date, time & venue
detail shall continue to be brought into the notice in due course through web site
of RRC i.e. www.rrcnr.org and/or
through SMS/ Email. Every care has been taken in preparing the shortlist given below but this RRC reserves the right to rectify any inadvertent error or typographical mistake.
